Do u still use 0w20 in your 3urfe tundra?

He is correct I worked for ford for 20 years and the most common cause was tarnished lash adjusters from cheap oil and prolonged oil change intervals causing the lash adjuster to stick (noise) don’t cheap out with the oil they are not equal

06 CVPI Ford says 5W-20. I considered 5w-30 but never did. 258k miles runs great doesn't burn oil so I'm just gonna use what manufacturer recommends.

Add 2 inch lift with extra leaf springs and you be alright since you got 4x4. Truck is a truck

People always parrot what they hear but those same people can never back up their claims. Also people always make general statements on things , such as that product is not good or you should never do this or that, but when I ask them why….all I get are crickets. As a retired Auditor, I need cold hard facts and not opinions.

Engines designed with tight clearances require thinner oils than the older designs did. Oil has several tasks to perform in a ICE configuration.

What fluid do you recommend for a 21 tundra ? I keep hearing that it’s not good to use atf and to buy a dedicated power steering fluid but idk

I have FR691V , which oil should I use ? it's only been 1.3 hours on it. Dealer told me to change oil first 50 hours then change every 100 hours but dealer told me I could use any oil that is recommended.

“But, but, but, but people typing in the comments say otherwise!!” 😜 My 2021 4Runner TRD ORP has had 0W20 since it left the factory and it’s more than sufficient. It just happens to be what the manufacturer states I should use. Also says I can use 5w20 but it calls for 0W20 so that’s what I use and I’ve had no issues. I change every 5k miles because I don’t want to go 10k miles because I want my truck to be my last purchase and it very well can be provided some idiot doesn’t drive recklessly and cause my insurance company to total my beloved yota 4Runner of course. Now someone will reply to my comment saying “you shouldn’t use 0w20 because blah blah blah and I work for blah and I know everything” but that’s ok. Never changed the filter on my 2015 Yaris CVT, got it at 80,000m & changed the fluid at 85,000m (Now has 92,000m) with genuine Toyota FE twice in 2 weeks. It takes 2.2L each drain.

Use 30 in the summer, and 20 in the winter time.😊

@repairvehicle - My garage always uses 5w30 in summer time (June) on my 2015 Yaris with 95,000m, but in autumn/winter time ie Roughly after October i change my oil to 0w20. Is that ok?

since turbos do harder wear in tear on engine how would ams oil fight against turbo engines?

It all depends on the type of driving you do, climate, terrain, and your bearing clearances. But yes there are times you need to increase your viscosity but it’s usually in extreme cases.

It gets to thin because of fuel dilution and the GDI system is the cause not oil weight. People dont change oil in those cars and then blame oil.

There are so many tuff torq and hydro gear transmissions, more tuff, but a liquid cooled one is a lot different that one with a plastic fan. They all suck.

No way thousands of cars running 0w20 with 300k miles. What cars use 0w20 subaru. Which maker is infamous for oil consumption? Subaru.

Id rather buy a 1998-2001 toyota camry than a modern car. Or even better, same year up to 2005 avalon. Or even older honda's. Id love a 1999 accord V6 coupe 5 speed. My current vehicle is a 2019 honda civic coupe 1.5 turbo. Ive owned it since new, always used 0w20, and changed the oil every 3500 miles. Im at 67,000 miles now. The oil has always stunk of gasoline, so a few days ago I switched to liqui moly 5w30 just to see. Its summer time now, and im curious if 5w30 will be ok to use. In the rest of the world their owners manuals say its ok to use 0w20, 0w30, or 5w30 , with most people I know in the UK , Ireland, etc using 5w30 since the first oil change in their 1.5 turbos.

I run QS Ultimate Protection 5W-20 during the summer months in my 2010 Camry with the 2.5 During the winter it gets 0W-20 QS ultimate protection.

2010 Camry 2.5.....0W-20......240K......Originaly changed at 5K, because of miles now doing 3K mile Oil Changes.......Live in Louisiana.....Daily Driver.....Highway miles @ 50 Plus a Day.......No Oil added between changes......

Silicone on that gasket very well could be part of the reason that pan isn’t on a vehicle anymore. Oil/silicone don’t do well together.

My 6.0 doesn’t have the plate. That being the case I’m gonna say it’s not OEM. But it could be from another engine/year. Looks like a custom mod to the pan to me.

I have been ignorant of this. I have been using 2001 Toyota sienna for over 8 years now, after watching this video i became scared because i have neither changed the transmission fluid nor filter. Am considering doing the fluid change but in this case, do i need to change the filter also haven used it for a long time without servicing. Your cadid advice please.

I use 5W30 synthetic and change at 5000 miles. I have no reason to change and have owned many Toyota vehicles over a lifetime. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive.

The why is because every online viscosity chart shows 0W20 is only to about 70f.

My 2025 Camry calls for 0W8 oil.

I had a new BMW 320I in 1980. I used Amsoil and changed it every 21000 miles. I sold the car with 180000 miles and the inside of the valve cover looked new.

My 2012 has become progressively easier to open, now I just pull the latch and it slowly lowers itself. I’m guessing the springs just rusting but it works lol

It really depends on your engine, if it was engineered around lower viscosity oils, moving to a thicker oil may damage the engine.

Could I use ATF WS for ATF-IV oil?

You can use 75w90.. they literally tried to sell it to me at the local Toyota dealer because they only use Toyota gear oil for warranty with because Toyota won't cover anything else for the work.. but the dealer sells a cheaper 75w90 for half the price of Toyota oil.. and they actually suggested that over the Toyota brand because of price.
